We have learned a lot from our planting trials in Winter 2023 and 2024. The current version of the guard uses two waratahs and a plastic sleeve and is working really well in medium to steep hill country sheep and beef paddocks. However, we have found that the guards have struggled in more intensive, flat cattle paddocks.
It is also very time-consuming to plant!
Last year, we came up with an innovative improvement to the design. We are currently in the final stages of testing this new guard concept, the results of which have been very encouraging.
We believe this next-generation guard will be a game-changer for tree establishment in cattle paddocks.
We've been testing the guard in paddocks with young bulls. Our goal is to enable quick and efficient tree establishment at scale, regardless of your grazing situation, without interfering with farm operations.
We aim for an early 2026 release date. We want to conduct more widespread testing of the guard in Winter 2025 before making it available to farmers.
